It's not often that a son of Montjeu, out of a dual Group One-winning sister to Classic Cliche and Aidan O'Brien's 2001 Ebor hero Mediterranean, would make its debut in a bumper, but Sword Of Honour did at Killarney on Thursday.
Having not run during a spell at Ballydoyle, the now Pat Flynn-trained gelding never had a moment's worry when sluicing up by nine lengths under Derek O'Connor. How his future pans out will be fascinating to watch.
