Well-touted since winning easily on his point-to-point debut at Dromahane in December 2009, Crash would warrant serious respect if he turns out in the maiden hurdle at Thurles on Thursday.

The Michael Hourigan-trained six-year-old further enhanced his reputation by landing his sole start in a bumper at Fairyhouse this time last year, and he has twice been placed recently over inadequate trips on his only two hurdle outings. On Thursday, Crash would be stepping up to two miles and six furlongs, which could be enough to see him get back to winning ways.
