Watch: Teenage jockey produces miraculous recovery after being unseated from his horse
Teenage jockey Jack Kennedy had a memorable day in Thurles this afternoon.
The 17-year-old was aboard Gordon Elliot-trained Bilko in the 1.45 race when disaster struck. Kennedy and the horse struggled to clear a fence, which sent the jockey shooting out of his seat, desperately clinging to the side of the horse as it raced on.
Remarkably, Kennedy was not only able to hold on, but also to acrobatically hoist himself back atop the horse. He might not have won the race, but Kennedy still had a pretty remarkable afternoon.
