Upping the ante

Jim Bolger has a hugely promising stayer on his hands in Twilight Payment and he merits respect at 20/1 for next year's Ascot Gold Cup.

It seems apparent that Order Of St George is not the superstar he looked when winning this year's edition, though Yeats certainly reserved his best for the Royal meeting, and perhaps the same is true of Order Of St George.

Even so, Twilight Payment is already being aimed at the race. When he started off at Navan in May, he had an ordinary enough reputation, but he has thrived with racing.

He stays dourly, edging Forgotten Rules gamely on his most recent start; he previously chased home Order Of St George. He gives every impression he is made for the Cup.
