Ultra Cool set for repeat at Roscommon

Damien McElroy

Ultra Cool and Chris Hayes return to Roscommon -- the scene of their initial victory three weeks ago -- and the combination are napped to follow up in the Castlerea Handicap at the expense again of the runner-up that day, Foxillian, which went on to frank the form at Bellewstown.

English import Ocean Bright was a surprise but plucky and appropriate winner of her maiden hurdle on that occasion for new trainer Dermot McLoughlin shortly after the funeral of his popular father Liam, the first rider to succeed aboard the legendary Arkle.

Robbie Dunne got a fine tune out of Ocean Bright that evening and the daughter of Cozzene could manage to repeat the feat over the same route in the Ballyleague Handicap Hurdle, despite the strong claims of the consistent Mayday Frontier as well as Coolavanny Gaffer, which shoulders a mandatory 6lb penalty for last Friday's smooth Kilbeggan win.

Ocean Bright's connections could receive some timely encouragement if Charlie Swan's Milan mare Step Right Up, which lost out by a neck to McLoughlin's younger charge, obliges under Denis Hogan in the preceding Four Roads Mares Maiden Hurdle.
