Davy Russell and Noel Meade were both in bullish form last night as they prepared to go head-to-head with Lord Windermere and Road To Riches in next Friday's Cheltenham Gold Cup.

The star duo headlined the Irish Independent's AIG Cheltenham Preview Night in Kilmacud Crokes GAA club, where they were joined on the panel by two-time Festival-winning rider Davy Condon and Noel O'Brien, the Turf Club's senior handicapper.

Nearly 150 invited guests and club members listened intently to the expert views on what was a hugely entertaining night, which also featured Paddy Power representative Mark Davoren, the Dublin club's goalscoring hero from the 2009 All-Ireland winning football team.

The event was held in aid of the Irish Injured Jockeys' Fund, and anyone wishing to make a donation can do so via the website irishinjuredjockeys.com
