Rubi light on course for lexus
ROBBIE HENNESSY has confirmed that Rubi Light remains on course for a tilt at the Lexus Chase on December 28.
Rubi Light recorded his first Grade One success when denying Joncol by five lengths in the John Durkan Chase at Punchestown last Sunday, and the Ratoath handler is happy that his promising six-year-old will have recovered sufficiently to take his chance in the Leopardstown three-miler.
"I weighed him before and after the race," Hennessy reported of his stable star. "He lost four kilos and has put all that back on. He is brilliant now. There's not a bother on him."
Sailors Warn, meanwhile, is the only Irish-trained horse to have been declared for the Ladbroke Handicap Hurdle at Ascot tomorrow. AP McCoy takes the mount on Edward O'Grady's four-year-old in a 17-strong field that sees Paul Nicholls' Brampour -- third to Grandouet at Cheltenham last weekend -- top the weights.
In the Grade One Long Walk Hurdle, Nicholls' Big Buck's is as low as 2/9 to stretch his sensational unbeaten run to 14 under Ruby Walsh. Of his six declared opponents, David Pipe's recent easy Haydock winner Dynaste (6/1) looks the only threat of significance to the market leader.
