Renato Souza set for spell on sidelines after horror Kempton fall
Renato Souza is set for a spell on the sidelines after damaging his neck in a horrible incident at Kempton on Monday.
The Brazilian-born freelance had to be stretchered from the track after his mount, the ill-fated Silvercombe, was brought down in a three-horse pile-up.
He was taken to St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey for precautionary X-rays and his agent, Adam Brook, was able to offer the latest news on Tuesday morning.
He said: "The update I've had is that he has fractured two vertebrae and he has been transferred to a neck specialist in London.
"However, I've been told he is able to move his legs and arms. It was an unpleasant incident, but it could have been much worse."
