Raiders target Leopardstown handicap prize

Press Association

Silver By Nature and Sydney Paget have been given joint top-weight of 11st 10lb in the valuable Paddy Power Chase at Leopardstown on December 27.

Scottish trainer Lucinda Russell's 11-year-old Silver By Nature showed the fire still burns bright when chasing home the six-year-old Sydney Paget at Haydock last month, but the pair would be meeting on 13lb different terms if both were to run after Christmas.

Home Farm and Sweeney Tunes (11-7) are the next two on the list, followed by Mad Brian (11-6).

Jim Dreaper's Goonyella (11-1) has been installed as the 10/1 favourite by the sponsors, with the Paul Nicholls-trained Ruben Cotter (11-0), Nicky Henderson's Prince Of Pirates (11-1) and Jonjo O'Neill's Alfie Sherrin (10-11) sure to have their supporters if they run.

Meanwhile, a cracking renewal of the Henry VIII Novices' Chase is in prospect at Sandown on Saturday, with nine possibles after the race was re-opened. Alan King has two nice prospects engaged in Balder Succes and Manyriverstocross, which beat Emma Lavelle's re-opposing Claret Cloak at Exeter.

Nicky Henderson has entered classy hurdler Grandouet, while Jonjo O'Neill's Taquin du Seuil arrives on a hat-trick. Nicholls' Dodging Bullets is also engaged.
