Oxx's Rock good to go

John Oxx reports Saddler's Rock to be primed for action in the Artemis Goodwood Cup on Thursday.

The Currabeg trainer was happy with the four-year-old's run in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot, where he stayed on well to take minor honours behind the Godolphin pair of Colour Vision and Opinion Poll. "He's had an uninterrupted run since Ascot and he came out of the race well," Oxx said. "He's been bouncing and working nicely."

Colour Vision could try to supplement his Royal Ascot gains as the four-year-old grey is among 14 possibles for the Group Two over two miles. His trainer Saeed bin Suroor could also be represented by Cavalryman and Lost In The Moment.

As well as Saddler's Rock, there are two other Irish-trained hopefuls in the Willie Mullins-trained Simenon and Paul Deegan's Midnight Soprano. Aaim To Prosper, Askar Tau and Times Up also hold entries while Rae Guest's Ed De Gas is the only three-year-old on the list.
