O'Brien's day to forget at Naas

Four-year-old Marvada (3/1) gave 10lb and a beating to four fillies from the Classic generation in the Brownstown Stakes at Naas.

Ken Condon's tough daughter of Elusive City was opening her account at Group level and did it in determined fashion with a three-quarter-length defeat of 25/1 outsider Caprella.

The disappointment of the race was Aidan O'Brien's After, which made good headway from the rear of the field before her run flattened out inside the final furlong.

There were more upsets on the card for O'Brien, headed by 1/4 favourite Parliament Square, which weakened to finish third behind Jim Bolger's Grafelli (12/1) in the opening maiden.

O'Brien's Where was another strongly fancied runner turned over as the Adrian McGuinness-trained 33/1 outsider Viztoria impressively won the Irish Stallion Farm Fillies Maiden on its debut.
