Murtagh eyes the top prize
Aidan O'Brien and Johnny Murtagh might soon be going their separate ways, but they will be aiming for the honours tonight in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Cooley Fillies Stakes at Dundalk.
You'll Be Mine started the season as a leading Classic contender and although the Kingmambo filly hasn't quite hit those heights, last weekend's fourth behind Shimmering Moment at Dundalk was a step back in the right direction.
Indiana Gal was sixth on that occasion and isn't expected to relish the drop back in distance as much.
The biggest threat is likely to be David Wachman's Hen Night, which has plied her trade at the top table since winning at Cork in August.
O'Brien has high hopes elsewhere on the card, with President Lincoln attempting to confirm the promise of his recent fourth here in the www.dundalkstadium.com Median Auction Maiden.
Music Pearl and Dubawi Star have more experience and represent his stiffest opposition.
Music Pearl's trainer Ger Lyons sends last month's course winner The Reaper for the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Nursery Handicap (6.30) -- but he will have to improve again to successfully concede weight to the likes of Madeira Man, Vastitas and Equus Ferus.
