Murtagh breaks bone in ski fall

Johnny Murtagh won't be in action on the all-weather at Dundalk over the coming weeks after breaking a collarbone on the skiing slopes of Austria.

The three-time Epsom Derby winner revealed he suffered the injury in the ski resort of Saalbach.

"Enjoying snow in Saalbach only problem small accident on top of mountain 1st day broken collar walking holiday now!!!" he wrote on Twitter.

The 42-year-old later thanked "all well wishers" and said it was his "first time ever to break any bone".

The former champion jockey should be back in action well in time for the start of the Irish Flat season in March.
