DAVY RUSSELL made a successful return to the saddle as Sunday Serenade landed the Buy Tramore Race Tickets Online Mares Maiden Hurdle.

The champion jockey, who had been out of action since a fall from Sir Des Champs in last Sunday's John Durkan at Punchestown, showed no ill effects as he steered the 3/1 chance into the front rounding the home turn, and she stayed on well to account for Davinia's Tip by four and a quarter lengths.

Wicklow Gold isn't exactly one of Willie Mullins' brightest stars, but he didn't need to be to comfortably land the 2014 Tramore Members Club -- Great Gift For Christmas Maiden Hurdle as the 5/4 favourite.

Gold Patrol won the Friends Of Shay Barry Novice Handicap Chase at Tramore and capitalised in the hands of amateur Barry O'Neill.

Fourth to Faugheen at Navan last Saturday, the Colin Bowe-trained five-year-old will race off a 6lb higher rating after this and he may have to rise even further, judging by his impressive six-length dismissal of Indian Outlook.

Tidy Zag also made a quick reappearance after his Cork triumph to take the Handicap Hurdle.

The 7/4 market leader appeared to be in trouble down the back, but stuck to his guns admirably and collared Getoutwhenyoucan after the last.
