Punters to Fairyhouse have been blessed with another day of sun as thousands turn out for the Irish Grand National today.

It's also Ladies Day on course with Una Healy on the lookout for the most stylish gúnas. The singer was resplendent in a fitted floral Ted Baker dress, and credited fashion stylist Eoin Thomas Higgins for her look. She paired her dress with an Alison Roe Millinery creation and her own shoes.

This year's theme for the competition in partnership with Dunboyne Castle is Country Chic and that has certainly been adopted by racegoers.

Bernie McGarrity and Edel Griffith from Malahide were out for a sisters day, hoping for some luck today.

"I'll be backing the jockey Jack Kennedy from Single riding in the Grand National and the other  - I'll follow him and I'll get a winner," said Bernie (46).

Grainne Lyons (31) also looked fresh in a floral dress.

"The hat I made myself, it's hand woven straw. I don't normally wear floral but because it is country chic I went with that, the dress is ASOS," she said.

She finished the look with a bag from New Look.

She is no newbie to style competitions, a finalist at Leopardstown this Christmas.

"It's an excuse to dress up," she added.

The first race of the day was won by The Holy One, trained by Jessica Harrington and was ridden by Paddy Kennedy.
