Hennessy hopeful of Light reign over Europe

Sizing Europe and Rubi Light are among the entries for a fascinating PricewaterhouseCoopers Champion Chase at Gowran Park on Saturday.

Last season's Queen Mother Champion Chase hero Sizing Europe could step back up in distance to two and a half miles for his seasonal reappearance.

The six-year-old Rubi Light was a fantastic third in the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival and his trainer Robbie Hennessy is keen for him to return this weekend, but only if conditions are in his favour.

"He's in good form but I'd like to see some rain for him. It all depends on the ground," said Hennessy.

Hennessy could be on the lookout for a different jockey this weekend, with Andrew Lynch likely to go with Sizing Europe. "Andrew is almost certain for Sizing Europe, so if that's the case we'll probably have Davy Russell or Barry Geraghty," he added.

Forpadydeplasterer would be making his first start since January if he lines up. A nine-runner field also includes Finger Onthe Pulse, Lenabane and Scotsirish.

Meanwhile, Gordon Elliott's Manger Hanagment is to bid to complete a five-timer in the novice hurdle at Sedgefield today.

All of the six-year-old's five career wins have been gained in Britain and the son of Heron Island has now won his last four starts at Perth, Hereford, Newcastle and most recently at Perth on Thursday.

Tony McCoy has ridden Manger Hanagment on his last three starts and is again in the plate.
