Harry goes straight for gold
Hennessy Gold Cup winner Diamond Harry will head straight for the Cheltenham Gold Cup without another run.
The Nick Williams-trained seven-year-old made the most of a 26lb weight concession from Denman to claim the prestigious handicap at Newbury last month, having jumped and travelled beautifully in the hands of Daryl Jacob.
Beaten just once over fences, he will clash again with Denman off level weights in March, with possible engagements in Ireland over Christmas and Cheltenham in January now ruled out.
Williams said: "We are going to go straight for the Gold Cup as he is highly-strung and has run all his best races fresh."
Owner Paul Duffy added: "After discussing things with Nick we thought the right thing to do was just go to the Gold Cup.
"If he had another race, then went to the Gold Cup and didn't run well, then we would have wondered why we did it."
