Going too soft for Delegator

Delegator is set to be rerouted to the Darley July Cup after connections decided against letting him take his chance in yesterday's Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot.

The Dansili colt was considered a major player for the six-furlong Group One following his victory in the Duke Of York Stakes, but the recent rain has scuppered his participation.

Trainer Saeed bin Suroor said: "The ground is just going to be too soft for him today, so we have decided not to run. Hopefully the weather stays dry for the next few weeks and he will run in the July Cup at Newmarket (July 9)."

Delegator was one of a number of non-runners on the final day of the Royal meeting, with Donald McCain significantly taking Overturn out of the Queen Alexandra Stakes on account of the ground.
