Que Pasa comes from behind to claim opening honours at an emotional Ballybrit

AT an emotional Ballybrit today, as the jockeys remembered RTE broadcaster Colm Murray, Que Pasa came from low in the field to win the opening race of the Galway Races in the 5.05pm Topaz Novice Hurdle.

With DJ Condon in the saddle, he came from fifth halfway to win the Topaz Novice Hurdle.

Rathlin ridden by Davy Russell won The Latin Quarter Steeplechase  in the 5.40pm Latin Quarter Chase at 5.40pm.

In a commanding performance, he led from four out and pushed on strongly to claim victory.

The 6.10pm Topaz Fillies Maiden saw Tarfasha in excellent form from the offset.

He took the lead in the early stages and never looked like surrendering it. Ridden by PJ Smullen, he took control early and comfortably led the field home. soon led, ridden to assert over 1f out, kept on strongly, comfortably.
