Frustrating time for ruby

You wouldn't want to be on the right-hand side of Ruby Walsh's armchair this weekend. If missing the rides on Denman and Big Buck's wasn't frustrating enough, he will cast covetous eyes at Fairyhouse tomorrow where Willie Mullins (above) has some outstanding talent -- weather permitting.

With Zaidpour, Mikael D'Haguenet and Hurricane Fly all down to run, Walsh would have loved to pitch for a slice of the action. Instead he'll be looking on from his living room, whip doubtless to hand, riding finishes as though he were in the plate himself.

No doubt Ruby will feel for Noel Fehily, Paul Nicholls' go-to guy, who joins him on the sidelines after breaking a wrist after a heavy fall.

It was only this week that Fehily had been confirmed for the Christmas treat on Kauto Star after a sequence of impressive rides for Nicholls since the Ruby's latest injury.

Here's to a speedy return for both.
