Easy does it for Zoffany
Zoffany gave Aidan O'Brien a third successive Korean Racing Authority Tyros Stakes at Leopardstown last night.
Johnny Murtagh rode the 1/7 favourite, which tracked pacemaker High Ruler before striding on for an easy victory from his stablemate.
Course specialist Famous Name -- a 4/6 favourite -- gave a stone and a beating to Steinbeck in the Meld Stakes. Dermot Weld's five-year-old, under Pat Smullen, asserted after the turn before stretching ahead of O'Brien's charge.
"We'll keep an open mind and look at races in France, in particular the Prix Jacques Le Marois," said Weld. "We'll also look at the Arlington Million. Ground conditions are important, he needs an ease in the ground."
Kevin Prendergast's Snow Watch overturned favourite Gatamalata (4/7) when running out a length-and-a-quarter winner under Declan McDonogh in the opening juvenile maiden.
At Limerick, Charlie Swan's Strongpoint bounced back from a poor run in the Midlands National at Kilbeggan, when holding on for a half-length win under Colm O'Farrell in the conditions chase.
Mike Darcy took the riding honours with a treble courtesy of Cooper's Crest, the gambled-on Moon Dice and Willies Girl.
