Double delight for Lordan
Wayne Lordan consolidated his third-place position in the Flat jockeys' championship with a 49/1 double on Lake Louise and Valbucca at Navan.
Trainer Lordan's fellow Cork native Danny O'Sullivan's Lake Louise (9/1) followed up last week's Curragh victory by forging home a couple of lengths clear of the Pat Smullen-ridden Cool Metallic in the nursery.
Bought for just €2,500 by her handler a year ago, the Haatef filly has now earned over €15,000 in prize money. "She could go to Leopardstown on the last day of the season now," Mitchelstown-based O'Sullivan said of his improving juvenile.
Willie McCreery's Valbucca justified 4/1 joint-favouritism under Lordan in the older fillies' handicap, while Jackemil (11/2) prevailed in the three-year-old handicap for John Joe Walsh and Ben Curtis. Jackemil cost Walsh a mere €2,100 as a yearling.
Jim Bolger's Teofilo newcomer Loch Garman (6/1) denied Ballydoyle's odds-on Indian Chief in the mile maiden.
