Dawerann delivers goods for Hourigan
Michael Hourigan's horses have been finding their stride of late and the Patrickswell handler struck with Dawerann in the opener at Roscommon.
Having finished runner-up twice recently, Dawerann went off 9/4 joint favourite and Barry Geraghty was always travelling well aboard the four-year-old gelding, which quickened nicely to see off Tangolan and New River.
Rodger Sweeney's 9/4 joint favourite Raydari appreciated the quick ground as he landed a gamble in winning division one of the two-mile handicap hurdle.
Division two of the contest went to Stephen Ryan's Sweetheart Susan after she and Robbie Moran were left in the lead by the fall of Paddy Mangan's mount Ballyspellan Lad at the second last.
Market support – 5/1 favourite from an opening 10/1 – was rewarded in the featured staying handicap hurdle as Andrew Heffernan's Landero galloped to victory under Robbie Power.
