Play or lay the big four?

I'M WITH CUE CARD: A runaway winner of last year's Champion Bumper, the highly talented Cue Card lost nothing in defeat when going down by four and half lengths to Menorah in December. He will arrive in Prestbury Park as a fresh horse and should get favourite backers off to a flyer.

Back Cue Card at 3.25 (9/4)

Defending champion Big Zeb will relish the prospect of similar ground conditions he encountered when running out a six-length winner of this race in 2010. The Colm Murphy-trained runner will again be assisted by Barry Geraghty in the saddle and the top two mile chasers may once again find him too hot to handle.

Back Big Zeb at 3.95 (3/1)

The stayers' division has lacked quality in recent years and Big Buck's has been able to take advantage of weak opposition in winning the last two renewals of this race. This year, it's potentially a very different story and with Grands Crus, Mourad and Fiveforthree all lining up, he will face, for the first time, challengers who are capable of denying him the treble.

Lay Big Buck's at 2.32 (11/8)

The lightly raced Imperial Commander has not appeared since winning the Betfair Chase back in November. Trainer Nigel Twiston Davies did hope to run his charge in the King George but that plan was scuppered for various reasons. He is defending champion but with something of an interrupted preparation (plus mixed reports from the gallops), he is opposable at the current price.

Lay Imperial Commander

at 4.6 (7/2)
