O'Dwyer primes Jon Ess to turn the tables
Conor O'Dwyer will have revenge on his mind when he saddles Jon Ess for At The Races Handicap at Dundalk tonight.
O'Dwyer's charge had to settle for second on his last visit to the course when chasing home front-runner Beach Bar.
The winner got a wonderfully judged ride from Wayne Lordan and has gone up 7lb as a result.
Jon Ess is now 6lb better off with his rival and, if he can keep closer tabs, connections will be hoping to turn the tables.
Reckless Lad, which was third in the race won by Beach Bar last month, remains untouched by the handicapper and is another to consider in a small but competitive event.
Fergal Birrane has enjoyed a terrific campaign during the winter and will be hoping to score again with Glenmoore in the Crowne Plaza Race And Stay Handicap.
The four-year-old, which drops to the minimum trip for the first time, showed plenty of pace when third over six furlongs last time out.
