Master Of Arts features among a maximum field for the Paddy Power Imperial Cup at on Saturday.
The valuable handicap carries a £75,000 bonus for any horse that can win at the weekend and go on to land a race at the Cheltenham Festival next week.
The double has been done by the Martin Pipe-trained duo of Olympian and Blowing Wind as well as David Pipe's Gaspara. The younger Pipe also went close with 2008 winner Ashkazar, who was second at Cheltenham.
Master Of Arts has only had two races over hurdles, winning the first of those before picking up an injury in the Triumph Hurdle of 2009.
He returned to run on the Flat for Mark Johnston, running well at the end of the season, and Pipe has trained him with the quick-fire double in mind.
"Master of Arts has been working well, has schooled well at home and is a good Flat horse," said Pipe.
"It looks like being better ground at Sandown on Saturday and that should suit.
"We are looking for a big run, and hoping to do the double at the Cheltenham Festival as we always like to have a bit of Paddy's money!
"He's had a few problems but he is now working well and the money tells the story really as he has been well-backed."
