Champion in focus for Telescope
Michael Stoute's Telescope is likely to be aimed at the top races over 10 furlongs, including the Irish Champion Stakes, after his impressive comeback at Leicester.
The one-time Derby favourite returned to action after 10 months off the track with a 24-length success in a fast time. He was not entered in the St Leger earlier this week so his engagement in the Great Voltigeur is unlikely to be taken up, but his initial entries in the Juddmonte International and Irish Champion Stakes may enter the equation later on.
"Sir Michael's very happy with him. He works this Saturday for the first time since Leicester and then he will decide where he wants to go," said Harry Herbert, racing manager for the owners, Highclere Thoroughbred Racing.
"Sir Michael won't be drawn on any firm plans, he's in the International, which is a possibility, as is a mile-and-a-quarter Group Three at Haydock (Rose Of Lancaster)."
