'Cavalry' in Qipco mix

Cavalryman features among 10 confirmations for the Qipco Yorkshire Cup on Friday. Godolphin's seven-year-old stayer won the Dubai Gold Cup at Meydan in March and is already prominent in the betting for the Royal Ascot equivalent in June.

Guarantee is set to take his chance for the William Haggas team, but must put behind him an uninspiring return to action in the John Porter Stakes at Newbury in April.

Last season's Canadian International winner Joshua Tree, who is now in training with Ed Dunlop, could also contest the Group Two over a mile and six furlongs.

Irish interest is spiked by the presence of Royal Diamond from Tommy Carmody's stables, with Top Trip bringing a dash of French colour to the Knavesmire for the Francois Doumen operation.

Michael Stoute could be represented by Eagles Peak, who was sixth on his return from a long lay-off in the Gordon Richards Stakes at Sandown.

Sir Graham Wade came home third in the Sagaro Stakes in April and is another likely candidate for Mark Johnston.
