Casamento to stand in Kildare after retirement
CASEMENTO has been retired to Darley's Kildangan Stud in Kildare.
The four-year-old colt won the Racing Post Trophy as a two-year-old for handler Mick Halford before joining Godolphin for his Classic campaign.
He failed to cut much ice behind Frankel in the 2000 Guineas, but returned to form to win a Group Three in France last September.
Casamento was last seen finishing down the field in the Champion Stakes at Ascot a year ago.
Sam Bullard, Darley's director of stallions said: "Casamento was an extremely gifted racehorse, and is a particularly imposing type, too.
"He is strong and handsome and has a stallion's pedigree and we are particularly delighted to stand a son of Shamardal who heads our roster in Ireland.
"We look forward to showing him to breeders in the coming months."
