Bubbly set for tilt at York
Bubbly Bellini could go to York for the Coral Sprint Trophy tomorrow week in search of a third valuable handicap success.
The five-year-old has been a revelation since starting his winning spree off a mark of 51 at Limerick in June, the first of a hat-trick inside a week. Winner of a premier handicap at the Curragh in July, the gelding son of Mull Of Kintyre capture a similar prize at headquarters last Sunday off a rating of 85.
"He's come out of it great. We gave him a canter this morning and he was half running away. He's in great form," said trainer Ado McGuinness.
"He's had a brilliant run. He's had two premier handicap wins and three other races since June. We didn't think he was going to go as far as he has.
"He goes to York and he's entered in the Newmarket Horses In Training Sales after that. Whether he goes is another thing, but he's turned into a very good horse.
"The way he's working at the moment, he could end up being Listed class before he's finished.
"A few horses that have finished just in front of us in sprints have gone on to run in Listed or Group races."
