Bradford Boris ripe for picking

It's good to see the Channel 4 cameras diverted at short notice from Haydock to Wincanton, where the handicaps have drawn decent fields. The west-country crew are confident of beating the forecast frost, and in that event Bradford Boris should be supported in the Bathwick Tyres Taunton Handicap (3.25).

The selection improved out of all recognition towards the end of last season, when his front-running victories included one over this course and distance. Having blown the pipes clean on his reappearance two weeks ago, he should now be cherry-ripe.

Also worth an interest is Fit To Drive in the Bathwick Tyres Handicap Chase (2.10). Brendan Powell's ultra-consistent mare earned a 10lb rating hike when spread-eagling the field at Sandown last time. She is one to be with when in form, however, and has performed well from her upwardly revised rating in the past.
