It's a far cry from winning the Melbourne Cup with Rekindling last November but Joseph O'Brien took great satisfaction from his Kempton raid last night as Bachelor scored for owner and former Irish rugby star Ronan O'Gara.

O'Gara, who has recently taken up a coaching role with New Zealand rugby giants Crusaders, is making a foray into horse racing with the talented O'Brien and his 7/1 shot stayed on strongly in the hands of former Irish champion flat jockey Fran Berry to win the Class 4 Matchbook Casino Handicap by a neck.

"I just had a very happy owner on the phone! Big congrats to @RonanOGara10 on his win with Bachelor at Kempton this evening," a delighted O'Brien said in a tweet mesage after his latest victory.
