IRISH horses were out of luck at Ayr yesterday where both Roy Wilson and Jim Dreaper suffered disappointing reversals.
Wilson's Yes Tom, a winner at the course earlier this month, proved a big let-down for punters when the 1/6 favourite was overturned by the only other runner, Railway Dillon, in the novice chase.
Yes Tom jumped poorly for the most part and Jason Maguire took advantage aboard Railway Dillon (9/2) as he guided Donald McCain's charge to a facile triumph.
Dreaper's Radharc Na Mara could fare no better in the staying handicap chase as the top-weight, ridden by Andrew Lynch, trailed home last of the seven finishers.
The in-form partnership of Maguire and McCain enjoyed a double as Diocles (2/7 favourite) recorded his second victory over timber in the opening novice hurdle.
Meanwhile, Oscar Whisky heads 14 horses entered in Saturday's William Hill Welsh Champion Hurdle at Ffos Las. The Nicky Henderson-trained runner claimed the event last winter.
Diamond Harry will be checked out for a possible breathing problem after his run at Cheltenham on Saturday.
