The big pot at the Curragh last night went for export as El Astronaute bounced out of the stalls like a rocket to make all the running in the €125,000 Tote Rockingham Handicap, writes THOMAS KELLY.

The John Quinn-trained gelding was doubling up in the five-furlong feature event, having also landed a Listed contest at Cork on his last visit to these shores a fortnight ago.

The 7/1 co-favourite showed plenty of early pace under Jason Hart to grab the lead under the stand's side rail and was always in command despite being challenged on the outer by fellow raiders Just Glamorous and stablemate Lord Riddiford.

El Astronaute picked up well when asked to quicken at the furlong pole, keeping on best in to record a length success from Manshood which finished best to claim the runner-up spot.

Jessica Harrington and Shane Foley teamed up to record a double, initiated by Windracer (11/4) in the opener. The brace was completed in the closing ten-furlong maiden as Leo De Fury (7/1) blitzed the field on its debut.
