Graham Holland is finding Kilcohan Park a lucky hunting ground and he won his third Gain Select Stakes in the last four runnings when Blue East provided the kennel with a 1-2 in Saturday's final.

Skywalker Jorge set a scorching gallop but was passed by Newinn Lester at the final bend. However Newinn Lester then drifted wide turning for home and the Larry O'Rourke owned Blue East came up the inside rail to win by a length from kennel companion Newinn Lester in 28.44. Skywalker Jorge was a similar distance back in third place.

The Pat Buckley trained Braveheart Bobby will be the solitary Irish finalist in the Scottish Derby at Shawfield on Saturday. Boyleports Xtra led to the third bend but he was crowded at this point and lost out as Braveheart Bobby got through behind Droopys Nadal. Bobby could go close from trap three in the final next weekend.
