Yankee can see off the Holland team

Once again it is Graham Holland versus the rest in the final of the Kerry Agribusiness Irish St Leger at Limerick this evening but it promises to be a very tightly fought contest in pursuit of the winner's prize of €25,000.

The Holland trio comprise of dual Derby finalist Sonic, dual classic winning Clonbrien Hero and the consistent Droopys Cabaye and the likelihood is that Sonic will go off as favourite.

But Sonic is not best drawn with the powerfully built wide runner Ballybough Dad on his inner in trap four. This could mean some early criwding on the outside and opens the way for the inside runners.

The dog to benefit could be the Paul Hennessy trained Jaytee Yankee which has taken well to the circuit and could get a lovely run to the bend with the slowish starting Black Eyed Peppa on the inside and the wide running Clonbrien Hero in four. We will side with Jaytee to take the prize.

The Gain Select Stakes semi-finals will be run at Waterford and an absentee will be the injured Cometwopass from the first heat. In his absence the likely winner is Pat Buckley's very promising Falcon Bay.

The other semi is a very hot affair and Holland's Derby runner-up Black Farren gets the vote to win from Skywalker Rafa.
