The Droopys Ant saga continues to gain momentum and the flying young bitch now carries an unbeaten career record into next Saturday's €7,000 Gain Dog Nutrition Christmas Oaks final at Shelbourne.

Trained by John Linehan for Sean Dunphy, Droopys Ant was winning her sixth race on the trot. She again went off a hot odds-on favourite and once again she dominated the majority of the race, though her supporters did receive a nasty late fright.

Ant flew from traps and was two lengths in front of Crossfield Kate on the corner. That was still the order as they turned for home but now Trinity Sadara produced an explosive finish and failed by just half a length to catch Droopys Ant in 28.32. It was another length to Crossfield Kate in third.

The first semi-final produced another top-class performance as the Pat Norris-trained Irish Oaks runner-up Tibet was right back to her top form. She narrowly won the race to the bend from Canyar and Sober Java and was never headed in a tightly-contested heat.

Mrs Chippy moved second on the run-in but Tibet won by two lengths in 28.41 with Canyar a length and a half third. Draw for next Saturday's final is: 1 Trinity Sadara, 2 Crossfield Kate, 3 Tibet, 4 Canyar, 5 Droopys Ant (m), 6 Mrs Chippy (w).

The final of the Greyhound & Petworld Irish Grand National at Curraheen was won by Offshore Bound in 28.87.
