'Twitter' in strong Comerford statement
The odds were turned over in both semi-finals of the Comerford Cakes Open 525 at Shelbourne and the scene is set for a very open final next weekend.
Top run was turned in by Liam Dowling's Ballymac Twitter, who produced a career-best performance as he scored in 28.33. He joined fast-starting Frisky Luck on the opening bend and stretched clear from halfway for a three-and-a-half-length margin over Frisky Luck .
In the first semi-final, Reggie Roberts' Urban Fashion led from the first bend and won by a length from Black Agenda in 28.68, with Battlymac Twitter's litter brother Chespirito just a short head adrift in third.
John Linehan's unbeaten youngster Droopys Ant burst clear from traps to win her heat of the Gain Christmas Oaks by six-and-a-half lengths in a brilliant 28.21 - easily the fastest time of the competition.
