This is a special night for doggy followers as for the first time in the BoyleSports Irish Derby all 48 contenders will be in action at Shelbourne Park.

There are some terrific clashes lined up but the bankers are Slippy Cian (8.12), Crossfield Will (8.27) and Jaytee Taylor (9.27).

Slippy Cian is one of 11 dogs representing Graham Holland and his consistent early pace should see him take the opening heat from Totos Park and Ballymac Arminta.

Slippy Cian is one of the 12/1 co-favourites in the outright betting lists along with his kennel companion Lenson Blinder (8.42) and Paul Hennessy's Jaytee Taylor. Following his defeat last week Lenson Blinder has something to answer and he will have it tough against Magical Bale and Panther.

But Jaytee Taylor does appeal strongly in heat six. He is improving with each outing and gets the vote to win from Clonbrien Prince and Droopys Denny.

Peter Cronin's Crossfield Will is due a slick start and looks good for heat two. Cronin's Whoops Jack (8.57) is also fancied, but this fourth heat is a real monster, with Stonepark Noel and Cabra Hurricane also entitled to the utmost respect.
