It's a special night, but pride of place must go to the Dandelion Bar & Nightclub Easter Cup final at Shelbourne where a terrific field will pursue the €25,000 prize.

PJ Fahy has Tyrur Sugar Ray and Tyrur Arthur, while Frances O'Donnell's runners are Skywalker Legend and Skywalker Farloe. A major stumbling block to them is Cabra Buck, while the field is completed by Hillcroft Champ which contested last year's final.

My fancy for the top prize is Tyrur Sugar Ray (9.55) given that he has his perfect inside draw.

But keep a big eye out for the two Skywalker performers, particularly Farloe if he can get an early clear run.

If Skywalker Jet (10.25) can repeat last week's flying start he can get the better of Star Ace while Atitboy is well capable of taking the penultimate contest.

Down at Limerick the quarter-finals of the Kirby Memorial will be run and Vans Viking (9.31) can make it seven on the trot in the first heat. In the other heats Vulturi (9.46), Green Prince (10.01) and Boylesports Hero (10.16) can lead home top class fields.

Moss O'Connor's College Maybe (9.38) is the one to beat in the final of the Hennerty Sales Cork Oaks at Curraheen Park.

The final of the Scottish Derby will be run at Shawfield and I am hopeful of an Irish victory with Mind The Net (9.15), though Metro Jack has smashing each way prospects.

Red Muriel

The decision to stage the final of the Red Mills Open Unraced Bitch Stake at Newbridge tonight in opposition to the Easter Cup final up the road at headquarters was a strange one. Surely last night, which was a quiet Friday, would have been a more suitable.

John Lenihan's Droopys Muriel (9.30) is the obvious choice here, though a trap six draw is no help. She can lead home Ballyrobin Venus.

Mullingar final

The final of the Gain Feeds Irish Cesarewitch is at Mullingar tomorrow (6.0), when Questoe Per Te (7.45) has the draw to land the €9,000 prize.

Gizmo Classic will need a repeat of his flying semi-final start if he is to win it again, while Questoe Per Te and Garryvoe Jet could have a great battle. Gates will open at 4pm with plenty of attractions on offer for all the family.
