Ireland will have six runners in the English Derby semis next weekend after another brilliant team performance in Saturday's quarter-finals.

Priceless Blake was Ireland's sole winner as he came home clear in the opening heat. He was quickly joined in the next round by his compatriot Ballymac Tas, who finished third to impressive winner Magical Bale in Heat 2.

Queen Beyonce took Heat 3 for the UK, but both Clonbrien Prince and Irish Derby champion Ballyanne Sim ran well to qualify in second and third.

Dorotas Wildcat justified favouritism in the final heat, but Ireland's Jaytee Taylor and Skywalker Logan both ran great races to keep their Derby challenge alive.

It was busy at Cork on Saturday, with the semis of the Barrys Tea 750 and opening round of the Shelley Fennelly Open 550. Maireads Pearl set the standard in the Barrys Tea, leading late in her heat to clock 41.82, while Droopys Loom stopped the clock in the other 41.99.

Meanwhile, Oaks champion Killmacdonagh was the star attraction in the Fennelly Memorial. She was dominant in her heat, clocking a brilliant 29.36.
