Blake on show

Michael O'Donovan's brilliant Irish Derby winner Laughil Blake will be the star turn at Shelbourne this evening when he has a pre-racing trial in readiness for the forthcoming Dandelion Bar & Nightclub Easter Cup.

O'Donovan plans to give him a sprint run this evening as he missed out on his gallops last week due to the cold weather conditions.

Picking winners at Shelbourne Park this evening is no easy task, with many of the 11 races containing unknown quantities.

Certainly, the early part of the card is particularly tricky and a cautious approach is advised.

For those with the patience to wait, Combo Sidney is nominated as the bet of the night in the penultimate race.

Frank Connolly's March '13 whelp flew home in defeat in previous outings at headquarters and is due a little luck. Tonight he lines out in the blue jacket and may arrive late to claim a third career success and a first in the capital.

Elsewhere on the card, Forest Lewis has a big chance of opening his account in the fourth contest. He has shown enough in his recent starts to suggest that he will be hard to beat in a pretty ordinary contest this evening.

Trio pools

The Trio Pools on all eight heats of the Juvenile Classic at Tralee on Friday will be guaranteed to €500 provided they have six runners. There will be a €3,000 Trio Pool Guarantee for the Best Car Parks Gold Cup final at Shelbourne on Saturday.

This week the Inter Track service will be from Shelbourne tonight, Harold's Cross and Tralee tomorrow and then Shelbourne and Tralee on Saturday.
