The curtain will come down on a very eventful year at Shelbourne Park tonight.

The final offering of the season will include no fewer than seven sweepstake finals and the concluding race will be the decider of the BoyleSports Open 550.

Likely favourite to take the prize is Black Eyed Peppa which has blossomed towards season's end and was a finalist in the St Leger at Limerick.

He chased home Sonic at the Night of Stars and was an impressive all-the-way winner of the semi-final last weekend.

The biggest dangers would appear to be Owen McKenna's Colarhouse Gerry and Peter Cronin's Sab Miller but the strength of Black Eyed Peppa should carry him through.

McKenna can be on the right side of the result in the final of the Quickpark.ie Mini Open 525 where his representative Dumas (10.12) can follow up on his fine effort last weekend.

A very strong runner, he overpowered Sir Boley in the semi and a trap-two draw should suit him in a race where Jaytee Denver could be the main threat.

Beaming Paradise (9.42) has been a big improver recently and he looks poised to win the Gain A1 final. Graham Holland's charge impressed when beating Sober Java last time and can lead that rival home again.
