Mays Seabird can fly home in Shelbourne decider
Tonight's 11-race programme at Shelbourne is due to go-ahead unhindered with no protest planned and it promises to be a competitive card.
Big race of the night is the final of the Gain Feeds A4/5 600 and it should be quite a battle with the Willie Connolly-trained Mays Seabird (9.13) the likely favourite following an impressive unbeaten path to the final.
Last week she saw off Town Belle by three lengths and the latter again looks the main danger. Madison Mercury can also figure but Mays Seabird makes the most appeal.
Tom Buggy would have to be regarded as one of the leading young trainers in the game and he can be among the winners again. The Bagenalstown handler has two bright prospects towards the end of the card in Kilgraney dancer (9.58) and Kilgraney ace (10.28).
There was a major Irish triumph across the water on Tuesday evening when Boylesports Star won the final of the £17,500 Ladbrokes Golden Jacket at Crayford for Dolores Ruth and owner John Boyle. The latter would have taken great delight in taking the money from one of his bookmaking rivals.
Boylesports Star and Paul Hennessy's Jaytee Patriot went off the joint favourites to score an Irish victory but the latter never found his true form in the race and eventually came home a staying fourth.
But Boylesports Star was fourth early and looked a likely winner once he moved into third place down the back. He swept to the front to win easily.
