Just one of the favourites proved successful in the second round heats of the Ladbrokes Easter Cup at Shelbourne Park on Saturday.

The solitary winning favourite in the heats was the Graham Holland-trained Lenson Blinder as he held off the strong-finishing Priceless Verona by a length and a half in 29.37. However, Lenson's litter brother Slippy Cian made a shock exit in the third heat where Tullig Footpad and Droopys Davy led home a Pat Buckley 1-2. Tullig Footpad led from the outset when winning by a length from Droopys Davy in 29.72.

The first heat winner was Liam Dowling's Akelawre as he flew out and won by three lengths from Magical Bale in 29.32. This time was repeated by Holland's Clona Blaze when he won the final heat by two lengths from Braveheart Bobby in 29.32.

Entries for the Bar One Racing Irish Sprint Cup classic close this morning and the first round heats will be run at Dundalk on Friday night.

Down at Curraheen Park, the semi-finals of the Gain Cup were won by Paul Hennessy's Oaks winner Jaytee Jordan in 28.44 and John Quinn's Fast Fit Act in 28.71.
