With the PAC meeting out of the way, the Irish greyhound industry can concentrate on the real major issue of the moment - the recommencement of a full racing schedule on the tracks.

Hopefully next week will bring some positive moves but meanwhile we have a busy weekend ahead of us.

The semi-finals of the €10,000 Red Mills Champion Unraced will be run at Kilkenny tonight, while at Newbridge the final of the Gain Feeds 550 is the main contest.

Down at Curraheen Park the Barry's Tea 750 gets underway.

Peter Cronin has withdrawn litter comrades Fleeting Nicko and Fleeting Captain from the Kilkenny event due to coughing.

Michael O'Donovan's Buckos Dream (9.0) looks the part in the first heat, with Karlow Joe the main threat.

The absence of Fleeting Captain will assist Tullovin Kim's bid for the second semi (9.12) with an empty trap on her inside. She gets the nod to lead home Luminous Warrior.

Ray and Eugene Dowling's Kylehill Strauss (9.45) is unbeaten in the Newbridge competition and he can lead all the way from trap one. Airmount Panther and Karlow Crean read the main dangers.

Stand by for fireworks at Curraheen, where Droopys Smasher (8.20) can enhance her growing reputation, while Airmount Tess (9.05) can return to her top form.

The Irish challenge for the English Derby has been reduced by two with the withdrawal of two of Paul Hennessy's contenders Barefoot Painter (coughing) and Away Jet, which has a slight injury problem.
