For the first time in the classic all the surviving greyhounds will compete on the same card in Saturday's third round of the BoyleSports Irish Derby at Shelbourne. But many of the leading favourites failed to qualify from the second round.

Among the top names to lose out were Droopys Verve, Droopys Expert, Borna Gin, Droopys Davy, Cash Is King, Native Chimes, Skywalker Rafa and Buckos Dream.

However, it remains a very hot Derby and the leading players over the weekend were Totos Park, Clonbrien Hero, Jaytee Taylor, Whoops Jack and Stonepark Noel.

The best run on Saturday was the 28.45 from Peter Cronin's brilliant early pacer Whoops Jack as he raced clear from traps in Heat 13 and won by two-and-a-half lengths from Newhall Missile in 29.45. Fastest of the second round was the 29.34 from Graham Holland's Totos Park on Friday. He made a fastest ever break and had the race sewn up a long way from home.,

Sponsors BoyleSports now make Jaytee Taylor their 6/1 favourite for the classic followed by Slippy Cian and Lenson Blinder at 10/1, while Magical Bale is next on the 12/1 mark.
