Jaytee Taylor primed for Derby glory
A massive crowd is expected to pack into Shelbourne Park tonight for what promises to be an epic final of the BoyleSports Irish Derby.
Right from the opening round we have been treated to a series of high-class performances and going into the final there are three dogs dominating the betting, Slippy Cian, Magical Bale and Jaytee Taylor.
Magical Bale will be bidding to complete a terrific Derby double for trainer Pat Guilfoyle who won the final 12 months ago with Good News.
He has an excellent chance of taking the prize for the Cloughjordan-based trainer but he must make a big start if he is to gain the vital early advantage.
Graham Holland has three of the six finalists under his care with Slippy Cian the more likely of his runners, but Clonbrien Hero and Clona Blaze are also serious contenders.
Paul Hennessy's Jaytee Taylor is the youngest finalist and will have a big supporting club, while the line-up is completed by the James Robinson-trained Ballyanne Sim which has a perfect trap-one draw.
The race will go off at 9.15pm and the vote goes to the youngster Jaytee Taylor.
