Derby champion Good News returned to Shelbourne Park in style when a runaway winner of his Ladbrokes Easter Cup heat on Saturday night

Pat Guilfoyle's charge broke smartly and dominated the second heat as he raced to a seven-length victory over Droopys Cabaye in 29.38.

Moneygall-based Guilfoyle expressed his delight with the dog yesterday, saying: "He came out of the race great and he is very fresh. He is in really good form."

Pat Buckley's young star Borna Gin bounced back from his Gold Cup final defeat with a powerful performance in Heat 4 when he led home Black Eyed Peppa by six and a half lengths in a best-of-the-night 29.29.

Hot favourite Clonbrien Hero could finish only third behind Swithins Brae in Heat 5 in 29.90 with Sonic failing to qualify.

The other heat winners were Drive On Tipp in 29.91 and Droopys Noah in 29.85.
