Bee produces the Killer knock-out
Killer Bee enhanced an already glowing reputation when a clear-cut winner of the Comerford Cakes Puppy 525 final at Shelbourne Park.
Owned by Tony Moore and Peter Comerford, Killer Bee produced a superb performance in winning the €12,500 final.
He went off the 9/4 second favourite and ran third down the back behind Riverside Larry and Sliabh Liag but produced a stunning burst of pace to race past the leaders around the final bends.
He won by four lengths from Riverside Larry in 28.51 with Sliabh Liag a length third.
Killer Bee will now be rested for a few months but will be aimed at the Kirby Memorial at Limerick and then the BoyleSports Irish Derby.
Liam Dowling's Ballymac Arminta produced a great run to win a semi-final of the Gain Christmas Oaks by a dozen lengths from Ballymac Trinkle in 28.13; the other heat was won by Mrs Chippy from Rallying Saidso in 28.71.
At Curraheen the final of the Slyne Memorial was won by the Pat Guilfoyle-trained Skywalker Logan, by four and a half lengths.
